Supply Chain Specialist

Our client is a fast growing multi-disciplined additive company focusing on delivering advanced solutions to the Polymer, Metal Working and Oil Industries. We are looking for an experienced; results and solutions oriented individual to fill the role of Supply Chain Specialist. The primary responsibilities of the Supply Chain Specialist will be to purchase and source materials for the manufacture of specialty chemicals. In the role excellent relationship building skills will be required by the Supply Chain Specialist to be able to develop third-party and vendor relationships.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the Purchasing and Sourcing of products.
Good negotiation and relationship skills with toll manufacturers required.
Will evaluate Sales and Marketing requests to reduce costs by purchasing from the best possible sources.
Assist the Buyers and Warehouse Manager in solving inventory matters both internally and with suppliers.
Follow up on invoice discrepancies with purchase orders.
Manage relations with existing suppliers and be responsible for meeting with them.
Responsible for assisting Sales / Marketing and Technical Managers in obtaining the necessary quotes from suppliers and continually searching for better suppliers.
Manage the purchasing aspect of rejecting out of specification products and interface with all necessary departments, including the supplier to insure that only quality products reach the customer.
Maintain a database of supplier information, including phone numbers, addresses, and contact names.
Continually develop better relationships with vendors to secure the best service, pricing and accurate lead times.
Requirements
The successful candidate must be a permanent resident or citizen of the U.S.
Must have 3 - 5 years experience in a Chemical Environment with a BS in Chemistry.
Must be capable of handling multiple projects/tasks at the same time, demonstrate creative thinking and good analytical skills, and can execute projects independently without supervision.
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with challenging deadlines and handling multiple projects and assignments.
Strong with ethic, good team player and have good practical business sense.
Work out of the Piedmont, SC facility and be willing to travel on an as needed basis.
Reports directly to the Executive Vice President.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
