Human Resources Manager

Summary Description of Position
Serves as a business partner to operations, sales, and general management, with responsibility for developing and executing talent priorities that will enhance the Southeast Division team's capability to achieve its strategic objectives. Manages the Human Resources activities for the state of South Carolina, to include employee relations, organization development, succession planning, recruiting, on-boarding, training, compensation, human resources administration, and employee communications.
Education, Experience, Skills Required
Education:
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience is required
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification is preferred
Experience:
5 years experience preferred in human resources, organization development, or another relevant role requiring knowledge of human resources practices and/or the ability to provide business partner support to line management

Ability to provide coaching, guidance, and credible business partner support to operations and sales management;

Effective communication skills, to include presentation skills and effective listening;
Knowledge, understanding of, and the ability to apply labor and employment practices including but not limited to EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OFCCP, and state and local laws and regulations, as well as best practices related to human resources, organization development, compensation and benefits, performance management, and employee relations;
Understands, properly diagnoses, and resolves organizational, talent, and/or employment issues; solves problems creatively and analytically; uses resources available to reach practical and effective solutions and/or decisions;
Demonstrates effective conflict management and dispute resolution skills, with the ability to constructively confront delicate issues, manage and communicate change, and assertively advocate a position when needed;
Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, details, and deadlines with consistently good results;
Effectively utilizes systems and technology (e.g., Microsoft Word, Kronos, PeopleFluent, PeopleSoft, Taleo, etc.).
Essential Functions
Maintains up-to-date awareness of issues, strengths, and opportunities at each of the state's operating facilities through a visible presence in the field, and a proactive and collaborative approach;
Works with managers and supervisors to identify issues and obstacles related to employee and team performance, and develops strategies and interventions to measure and improve organizational effectiveness, recognize top performance, support and drive the 'Vulcan Way' culture, and increase employee engagement;
Advises managers and employees in a wide range of human resources areas, including people development, employee relations, Company policies, training, compensation, and employee engagement;
Plays a lead role in assisting managers with succession planning, talent development, training plan execution, and ways to build and improve the talent pool;
Collaborates with Recruiting Department, other Southeast Division colleagues, and hiring managers to plan and execute recruiting strategies on a local level, to include the development of hiring plans, identification of technical staffing requirements and needs, and assistance in selection and sourcing;
Assumes employee relations responsibility‚€“assists managers and supervisors on problem solving, investigating employee complaints, and working with management to achieve acceptable resolutions;
Acts as a change agent, facilitating changes as required by new initiatives;
Identifies training needs and develops and implements training programs through internal and external resources;
Assists with new acquisitions and growth initiatives as they relate to human resources and organizational issues;
Supports the effective implementation and monitoring of the Division's EEO plans and policies;
Facilitates one-on-one employee interviews and communicates employee comments and employment issues to members of management as appropriate;
Represents the Division as assigned on Company-wide project teams related to human resources, training, and development;
Works with managers and supervisors on annual salaried planning program to ensure employees are rewarded for performance and contributions;
Coordinates with the Legal Department on labor and employee relations issues to ensure legal compliance in all situations.
Other Requirements
Travel throughout South Carolina and occasional travel to other locations will be required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
